Tested By Fire

A community copes with a devastating school fire. First by responding. Then by rebuilding. Koch’s Georgia-Pacific employees who live and work there play a pivotal role in both.

Tuesday, Feburary 19, 2013. A raging inferno guts the west wing of Choctaw County High School in Butler Township, Alabama. This short video reveals how local volunteer firefighters, led by a long-time Georgia-Pacific employee, helped put it out. And how the people of Koch’s Georgia-Pacific came through financially to help the school get back on its feet and replace the “21st Century Classroom” destroyed in the flames.

Since it’s inception in 2006, the Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade has provided more than $1.5 million to fire departments through cash grants and educational materials to more than 210 fire departments across 30 states.

The following chart details the value of Koch company contributions to fire departments during 2014 alone.
